Beginning April 8, we will reopen our doors to gradually welcome back guests inside our museum, starting with previews for members and community partners. Advanced timed tickets are required for entry and are now available online.  See NHMLAC's response to coronavirus (COVID-19).

Carrie Howard

Lead Preparator, Rancho La Brea

Ms. Howard came to Rancho La Brea with a BA in Earth Sciences and Anthropology from UC Santa Cruz and a love for geology, fossils, and photography. She started as a volunteer in the Fossil Lab and at the Project 23 Excavation in 2009, and soon became a staff excavator.  She worked at the excavation site for several years and now works on digitization projects in the collections and in the field through photography, photogrammetry, and 3D surface scanning, while also overseeing the photography and data collection at the Project 23 daily excavation site.
