How can studying the fossils of Ice Age birds help us to better understand the diversity of birds that live in L.A. today? Join us as we discuss new and exciting research about birds found at the Tar Pits with our new Assistant Curator of Ornithology, Dr. Allison J. Shultz. She'll share all about her studies of birds across timescales, then we'll conduct our own studies on modern birds in Hancock Park! Make sure to bring all your best bird watching gear - comfy shoes, sunblock, a hat, and binoculars (if you have them) - as we'll be teaching you the basics of bird watching and how to get your class outside, with Dr. Shultz as our guide.
