Join us for our last educator workshop of the school year at the LA Zoo, where we'll explore connections between species of the past discovered at the Tar Pits and modern day animals! We'll start off our day in the classroom, where LBTP excavators Sean Campbell and Laura Tewksbury will talk about comparative anatomy, evolution, and how modern animals help us visualize and learn about extinct animals. Then we'll head out into the zoo to see a selection of animals and hear zoo keepers share information about the animals, their care, and conservation. Educators will have the opportunity to try a note-taking resource to guide student learning during the zoo walkabout. We'll wrap up with time for reflection, resource sharing, and a raffle.
