Journey around the globe at our Tar Pits of the World Homeschool Day! Discover how asphalt seeps preserve past ecosystems in Peru, Trinidad, Azerbaijan, and our very own Rancho La Brea. Explore with a Tar Pits Passport and collect a stamp at every station! We’ll also have craft activities, microfossil sorting, the Tar Pits Mobile Museum, special programming with Museum Educators, and more! See our full program below.
This year, pre-registration for timed ticket entry is required.

Discover Ice Age Los Angeles in this dynamic, multimedia performance featuring a life-size Saber-toothed Cat puppet! Located in the Encounters Theater.

Join an interactive game with our museum educators to see how so many Ice Age carnivores ended up in our fossil collection.
