Welcome Homeschoolers to La Brea Tar Pits for a day filled with activities, learning resources and special programs! During your visit, learn about nocturnal animals found at the Tar Pits! This event is free and exclusive to homeschoolers and their families, so you won't be sharing the museum with traditional school groups.
- Free Entry is available during museum hours from 9:30 am to 5 pm.
- Morning Programming will take place from 10 am to 12 pm and, after a lunch break, switch over to afternoon programming from 1 pm to 3 pm.

- While pre-registration is encouraged, tickets will be available at the door with the discount code.

9:30am–5 pm | Museum Exploration with Free Entry
Explore the Museum's indoor and outdoor exhibits with a scavenger hunt. Bring back your completed sheet for a prize!
Self-guided | All ages | While supplies last
10 am–12 pm and 1–3 pm | Craft Stations
Located near the Colombian Mammoth and Mastodon, make your own Paleo Shadow Puppet and craft a megafauna mask.

10:30 am– 2:30 pm | Nocturnal Animal Walk
Drop into the 2D Theater and check out nocturnal animals that live in Los Angeles.
Be aware that this is a low-lighting display, so mind your step!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND TIPS
- While not required, participants are encouraged to reserve tickets prior to the event. Please ensure you are reserving for Tuesday, October 29.
- Paid parking is available in the Tar Pits Parking Lot (off Curson Ave.) for $18 per car. View parking map and directions here.
- Most programming on Homeschool Day is drop-in, so come and go as you please! Ticketed experiences will be indicated in the schedule above.
- On Homeschool Day, homeschool educators receive 10% off in the Museum Gift Shop with their Educator sticker!
